Chris Hardy is a clarinettist based in Manchester, England. After 6 years of study under scholarship at the Royal Northern College of Music, Chris graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Music (Hons) and Master of Music with Distinction.

Chris enjoys a varied freelance career, performing across the UK with orchestras including The Hallé, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Opera North and Royal Philharmonic. Chris is an active chamber musician, performing regular recitals in the UK, and abroad as a guest recitalist on P&O and Cunard voyages. He is also a member of reed quintet Northern Reeds, with whom he won the Royal Philharmonic Society Henderson Prize in 2022, and went on to record their debut album at the Stoller Hall.

In addition to playing the clarinet in all of its varieties, Chris enjoys teaching and outreach work, and has been operating a woodwind repair workshop since 2021.
