Christopher Hardy is a clarinettist based in Manchester, UK. After 6 years of study under scholarship at the Royal Northern College of Music, Chris graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Music (Hons) and Master of Music with Distinction.
Chris enjoys a varied freelance career, performing across the UK with orchestras including The Hallé, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Royal Philharmonic. Chris is an active chamber musician, performing regular recitals across the UK, and abroad as a guest entertainer on P&O & Cunard voyages. He is also a member of reed quintet Northern Reeds, with whom he won the Royal Philharmonic Society Henderson Prize in 2022, and went on to record their debut album at the Stoller Hall.
In addition to playing the clarinet in all of its varieties, Chris is a keen doubler playing saxophones and flute. He is a passionate teacher of woodwinds, and has been operating a busy woodwind repair workshop since 2021.
